Hon. Haji Mohammad Younus Mohmand, Representative of the World Federation for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) in Afghanistan, attended the opening ceremony of the Afghan Red Crescent Society’s Specialized Cardiac Hospital.
The ceremony was attended by the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister, the President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, senior government officials, and a number of national and international guests.
Hon. Mohammad Younus Mohmand described the opening of this important and vital hospital as a major and promising step for Afghanistan’s healthcare sector, particularly for children suffering from heart conditions and their families.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to the leadership of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, national and international donors, doctors, engineers, healthcare workers, and all those who contributed to the planning, construction, and operationalization of the hospital.
Mr. Mohmand also proposed the establishment of a National Charity Fund to provide free medical treatment and continued support to children from disadvantaged families suffering from heart conditions.
He stated that the World Federation for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) would support efforts to further strengthen the hospital and enhance its capacity. He added that efforts would be made to attract experienced international cardiac specialists to Afghanistan so that they could share their specialized knowledge and professional expertise with Afghan doctors.
In addition, opportunities for advanced specialized education and practical training abroad would be facilitated for Afghan medical specialists, with the aim of further strengthening the country’s capacity for the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of cardiac conditions within Afghanistan.
Hon. Mohammad Younus Mohmand emphasized the importance of joint cooperation among the government, private sector, charitable organizations, and international partners in strengthening Afghanistan’s healthcare sector and improving access to quality medical services.
