Today, accompanied by a number of respected elders and friends, I visited the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kabul to express my deepest sympathy and condolences on the passing of the former Emir of Qatar, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

I also conveyed and formally recorded my message of condolence in the Embassy’s book of condolences.

On this solemn occasion, I extended my heartfelt condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the esteemed Al Thani family, and the brotherly people of Qatar.

I also paid tribute to the late Emir’s historic, friendly, and humanitarian role toward Afghanistan, and expressed my appreciation for the continued cooperation of the State of Qatar and its brotherly and supportive position toward the people of Afghanistan. I further emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen and expand the friendly and economic relations between the two countries.

I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the late Emir Jannat al-Firdaws and to bless His Highness the Emir of Qatar, the esteemed Al Thani family, and the people of Qatar with patience, strength, and abundant reward during this difficult time.
