Mohammad Younus Mohmand Meets with Afghanistan’s Ambassador to China to Discuss Trade and Economic Cooperation

Hon. Haji Mohammad Younus Mohmand, Representative of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) in Afghanistan, held a meeting with H.E. Bilal Karimi, Ambassador of Afghanistan to the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting was attended by the Embassy’s Commercial Attaché, Administrative Officer, and other distinguished officials. Comprehensive discussions were held on further expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and China.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged valuable views on strengthening trade relations between the two countries, promoting investment, and creating greater opportunities for Afghan traders.

H.E. Ambassador Bilal Karimi emphasized the importance of Afghan traders carefully verifying the credibility, legal status, and business background of Chinese companies before entering into any commercial transaction or signing contracts with them. He advised that all transactions should be conducted through formal and legally valid contracts to protect Afghan traders from potential financial and legal losses.

The Ambassador further noted that when contracts and legal documents are properly prepared and completed, the Embassy of Afghanistan will be in a stronger position to effectively defend and support the legitimate rights of Afghan traders whenever necessary.

Given the significant commercial importance of the city of Yiwu in China and the needs of the large number of Afghan traders residing there, the meeting also included detailed discussions on the possible establishment of an Afghan Consulate and the activation of a Commercial Attaché’s Office in Yiwu. Such measures would help make consular and commercial services more accessible, efficient, and effective for Afghan traders.

Hon. Haji Mohammad Younus Mohmand expressed his sincere appreciation to the respected officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Bilal Karimi, the Commercial Attaché, the Administrative Officer, and all distinguished officials of the Embassy of Afghanistan for their warm reception, valuable guidance, and continued support.

He praised their important role in supporting Afghanistan’s private sector and business community and in further strengthening trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and China.
